Pane'e Mua Project Brochure

Pane'e mua is a Hawaiian phrase, meaning to progress forward, one move at a time.

In 2010, when NNEF identified a need for community and adult education in East Hawai'i, especially for individuals seeking a High School diploma, we developed a project to address the issue, providing educational opportunities that would allow for supported and steady progression forward. Since the Fall 2010, NNEF's Pane'e Mua Project was granted funding from several institutions to provide a comprehensive High School diploma and community learning program with workforce preparedness, life skills, and Native Hawaiian cultural components to East Hawai'i's Native Hawaiian community. A few years later, our project focused on providing comprehensive employment core and career support services, FREE for Native Hawaiians from East Hawaiʻi, 18 years of age and older.

HiSET Diploma Program:
In our HiSET diploma courses we will be directly assisting Native Hawaiians in meeting diploma requirements. We will also be providing additional mandatory life skills, work force preparedness, and Hawaiian culture classes to our diploma students, while providing comprehensive employment core and career support services.

Career Pathways Program:
Our Career Pathways Program will provide assistance to Native Hawaiians with work placement and continuing education scholarship opportunities.

The Pane'e Mua Project will also provide bi-annual general community education classes and workshops based on the needs and interests of the East Hawai'i Native Hawaiian Community.

Partnerships:
The success of the Pane'e Mua Project is dependant on the generosity and participation of our community partners.  We are extremely grateful to have partnerships with the following organizations whose support and kōkua have been invaluable:
